Executive Director
Sherry Ratcliffe arrived to the position of Executive Director of the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce in 2011. She is a Carbondale native who has worked in the community since her very first job as a hostess at the Pasta House Company. In addition, Ratcliffe has worked at the Bureau of Blind Services as a Contractual Reader; First Cellular of Southern Illinois as a Cellular Consultant and Corporate Account Specialist; and Alltel Wireless as a Senior Wireless Consultant and Business Solutions Representative. Her passion for Carbondale, experience with the business community, and immense interest in tourism, event planning and marketing paved her path to the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce. She is thrilled to be working with the business community where she grew up.
Ratcliffe’s accomplishments consist of obtaining the “Esprit De Corps” award from First Cellular of Southern Illinois in 2004. In 2006, she received an Associate in Arts Degree from John A. Logan College in Carterville. In 2007, she was promoted to a Senior Wireless Consultant at Alltel Wireless. She was one of six representatives to receive this promotion at the earliest achievable point in the Illinois market. In 2008, Ratcliffe was chosen to represent the Alltel Illinois market at a corporate leadership conference. She was one of four representatives selected by the regional manager. Additionally in 2008, Ratcliffe obtained the “Small Business Assistant Counselor” certification through the SIU Registered Student Organization Saluki CEO Corps. In 2009, she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Southern Illinois University. In 2010, she received the "Top Business Solutions Representative Strategic Percent to Quota" award at Alltel Wireless. As Executive Director for the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce in 2011, she received the Community Champion Award from the Illinois Small Business Development Center.
Office Manager
Jessica Maloney started with the Chamber Staff in November of 2010. Originally from Pinckneyville, IL, she moved to Carbondale in 2005 to attend SIUC. Jessica earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising/Integrated Marketing Communications from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She now resides in the area with her husband Patrick and dog Ezra. Jessica is excited about the opportunity to support the City of Carbondale and serve the Chamber and its members.
Bookkeeper
Chris Nolan has been the bookkeeper at the CCC since April, 2007. She lives in Murphysboro with her husband, two children and Labrador named Jax. Besides working at the Chamber part-time, Chris is the bookkeeper for several other companies.
